Throughout a dynamic legal career spanning over 33 years, Michael Evans has represented individuals in federal, state, and military courts charged with a diverse and wide-ranging spectrum of crimes including complex white collar fraud schemes, murder and capital crimes, sex crimes, drug offenses and illegal arms sales.
Based in Los Angeles, California, Mr. Evans has represented clients in 22 different states and the District of Columbia, argued cases in the Fourth, Fifth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the California Court of Appeals, and taken Rule 15 trial testimony at the United States Embassies in Tel Aviv, Israel and Tbilisi, Georgia. He has tried over 75 cases before juries in California, Arizona, Illinois, Texas, and Nebraska.
Michael Evans is local counsel in Southern California for the Mexican Capital Legal Assistance Program founded by the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs representing Mexico's interests guaranteed under the Vienna Convention in defending their citizens charged with capital crimes in the United States.
Cases he has worked on have been featured in esteemed publications as Gentleman's Quarterly (Feb. 2013), the Los Angeles Times (numerous), ESPN, Sporting News, and in the critically acclaimed book "Official Negligence: How Rodney King and the Riots Changed Los Angeles and the LAPD" by Lou Cannon.
Michael Evans has committed his life's work to protecting the civil rights of individuals accused of crimes, making sure that no person is wrongfully convicted of something he/she has not done, and empowering him/her to defend against any charges brought by the United States or any State Government.
